Welcome to Foundations School of Ballet! We are passionate about creating a fun and friendly environment where everyone can come and discover the magic of ballet and dance.
We believe that the key to becoming a great dancer lies in mastering the classical dance technique. We are dedicated to guiding you through this beautiful art form, step by step and building those important foundations .
Our classes are based in the heart of Tickhill and we follow both the prestigious Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and the Imperial Classical Ballet and Tap syllabus with the ISTD.
Examinations
Children can be invited to take part in examinations. They are a great way to celebrate a childs achievement before moving up to the next grade, once passed they are celebrated with a report and certificate.
Miss Kate Roe-Brown - Principal
Miss Kate grew up in London where she started dancing at the age of 4 with weekly Saturday classes. She then went on to gain a place at Sylvia Young Theatre School followed by The Arts Educational School where she gained extensive training in all dance styles including ballet, tap, modern, Jazz and Contemporary. She performed in many shows including a charity event at the Royal Albert Hall, posing and dancing as a sugar plum fairy at the Natural History Museum as well as performing at the 2012 Olympics closing Ceremony.
After sustaining a back injury she was introduced to an ISTD Tutor where she developed a love for teaching, achieving a Diploma in Dance Education in Classical Ballet and a Diploma in Dance instruction in Tap.
She went on to teach Classical ballet and tap at schools across London teaching a range of ages from nursery up to vocational, entering pupils for ISTD ballet exams at all grades from Pre-primary to Intermediate with a 100% pass rate and all students gaining Merit or Distinction.
Previous pupils have gone onto numerous dance colleges and ballet associate programmes including Bird College, Arts Educational , Ballet Boost London and The Royal Ballet School as well as many pupils gaining places in both English Youth Ballet and London's Children's Ballet productions.
She loves to nurture and encourage pupils to be the best dancers they can be!
